Buffy paused so that she might have a better
chance at catching even the most subtle hint
that t h i s was a BAD IDEA. 

                      “… I w a n t to be able to trust you with this.”

          "I promise, Buffy.”

The words slide easily from her mouth, truthful and
sincere. It’s not like Dawn  wants  to go looking for
trouble– - the only reason it’s ever even found her
is because of who she was, and who her  sister  is.
All she wants is to do something to fight that fate.
