Joyce pressed a kiss to the back of her daughter’s head. “I’m sorry sweetie but you’re the one wanted me to brush out all the knots in your hair. I’ll try my best to be gentle.”

“Yeah, but I didn’t think it’d hurt this much!”

Dawn let out another whine as her mother continued to
try to tug the brush through her messy hair.    Honestly,
she still wasn't even sure how her  bedhead  had gotten
this bad.  Normally  her  hair  was straight as a pin all of
the time, but now it practically looked like a giant bird’s
nest. How  had  she  managed  to   do   this   overnight?
