As usual, the ex-demon’s attention was on the cash register when she heard
Dawn’s voice break the quiet of The Magic Box.
“Well I’m supposed to be restocking shelves but counting my money
is so much more rewarding.” Dropping the dollars back into the register, Anya
gave a small shrug.
"Maybe it won’t be so boring if you’re suffering with me.” She thought aloud.
“I’ve decided you can help! Good for you.” She gave a bright smile to the young
Summers girl.

“Gee, thanks…”
Ignoring the condescending lilt to Anya’s tone– -
she’s used to it by now– - she crosses the shop to
join her. Standing at the other end of the counter,
she picks up the nearest odd item laying around; it
gives her hands something to do as she watches
the ex-demon reluctantly close up the register.
(Seriously, if Anya’s so in love with money,
she may as well just marry it.)
“So, what are we gonna be restocking?
– – – –Nothing icky, right?”
